Dragonair to Join Oneworld

On November1, China's Dragonair will join the Oneworld alliance, adding 12 destinations and one new country to Oneworld's network. The addition of Chongqing, Changsha, Chengdu, Fuzhou, Haikou, Kunming, Guilin, Ningbo, Nanjing, Shenyang, Sanya and Wuhan helps to bring Oneworld's total destinations in mainland China to 22. In addition, Dragonair brings Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia; Phuket, Thailand; and Phnom Penh, Cambodia to the alliance, Cambodia's first appearance on the Oneworld map.

"Since its launch eight years ago, Oneworld has been the only alliance with a member from greater China, in our Hong Kong-based founder member Cathay Pacific," Oneworld Managing Partner John McCulloch said in a statement. Dragonair is part of the Cathay Pacific group, but maintains a separate "KA" flight code.

Oneworld alliance members also include American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN, Malév, Qantas and Royal Jordanian. Visit [www.oneworld.com].
