The Bahamas Ranks as One of the "Happiest Places in the World"

August 2, 2006 By: Mark Rogers Travel Agent

A recent study released by British scientist Adrian White, an analytical social psychologist at the University of Leicester in central England, ranks the Bahamas among the happiest places in the world. The islands came in fifth on White's "first world map of happiness," behind Denmark, Switzerland, Austria and Iceland. Data published on the University of Leicester web site states that the map is based on analysis of results from 178 countries and more than 100 global studies, taking into account what White cites as the main factors of happiness: health provision, wealth and education.
