Hawaii Posts Mixed July Results

Travelers who came to Hawaii in July set a record for that month in terms of spending—$1.2 billion—according to data released by the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism. In addition, domestic arrivals were up by nine-tenths of a percent compared with July 2005. July also marked the fourth straight month of increases in domestic arrivals. However, the number of travelers arriving in Hawaii from beyond the U.S. dipped by 10.6 percent, pushing total arrivals into slightly negative territory, at a decrease of 1.9 percent.
