May 7, 2007 By: Mark Rogers Travel Agent

Interest in travel to Asia continues to climb according to "Asia Travel Intentions 2007," a survey conducted by Visa International Asia Pacific and the Pacific Asia Travel Association. The survey of 5,000 international travelers from 10 markets around the world found 52 percent consider Asia as their next travel destination, a 9 percent increase over last year's survey. Thailand was rated the number-one destination, followed by Japan and China. Asia's natural beauty, and its leisure and cultural opportunities were key factors in respondents choosing the continent. A partial driver of proposed travel to Asia is the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
