October 9, 2006 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor Travel Agent

Three of Europe's largest airlines posted stronger passenger-traffic growth for September than for August, when a major terror alert hit flights in the United Kingdom, the Wall Street Journal reports. EasyJet Friday reported a 9.8 percent rise in passenger volume from a year earlier to 3.01 million, compared with an 8.4 percent rise in August. Air France-KLM, said traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometers, rose 5.9 percent in September from a year earlier compared with a 4.8 percent rise in August. Revenue passenger kilometers factor in how far passengers fly. SAS reported a 5.2 percent rise in revenue passenger kilometers, compared with a 3.6 percent increase in August.
