Travel Agents' January Air Sales Up

airplaneIn a promising start to 2013, ARC reports that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 4.77 percent year-over-year in the first month of 2013 compared to the same period last year. The totals: $7.6 billion vs. $7.2 billion in 2012.

ARC also reports January 2013 ticket transactions increased at 3.6 percent over the same period in 2012 to 13.2 million. Year-to-date passenger segments increased slightly by 0.7 percent to 27.8 million compared to 27.6 million in 2012.
