The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority says that Las Vegas' visitation grew to 38.9 million in 2006, breaking the records of previous years. Convention visitation rose by 2.3 percent in 2006 while non-gaming revenue generated by conventioneers increased 7.6 percent. Average daily room rates increased 16 percent to $119.66 and occupancy levels increased to 89.7 percent.
