The Somerset on Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos recently announced that Peter Nowotny has joined the luxury resort on Providenciales as general manager.

Nowotny, a native of Austria and a graduate of Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, comes to The Somerset with more than 30 years of international experience in the hospitality industry including training from Ritz-Carlton and Intercontinental Hotels. Most recently a principal at Lawson Consulting, Nowotny provided hotel training and guest service management tools to hotel groups, with a special focus in food and beverage operations.

Nowotny has experience in a variety of positions from executive chef to director at the five-star, five-diamond Kahala Hilton Honolulu in Hawaii and special projects coordinator to general manager with Hilton International.

"Peter has the diverse skill set we are looking for to keep our guest service level at five-star quality and bring new ideas to enhance popular resort amenities and programs," Krauer said in a written release. "His experience in training five-star hotel teams and enthusiasm for the Caribbean will continue to lead this property to be one of the best five-star resorts on Grace Bay Beach."
