Lindblad Expeditions Offers Cruise With Underwater Tour in Alaska

April 4, 2012 By: Danielle Stepongzi

Celebrating 30 years of Alaska exploration, Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic unveils its new Undersea Alaska program.  Itineraries include the eight-day Exploring Alaska’s Coastal Wilderness and the 12-day Alaska, British Columbia and San Juan Islands trips.

Available May through December, voyages take place aboard the 62-passenger National Geographic Sea Bird and National Geographic Sea Lion. Onboard each vessel will be three naturalists, an expedition leader and a Lindblad-National Geographic-certified photo instructor.  An undersea specialist will dive 40-80 feet below the ocean’s surface and collect footage of the undersea world using a high-definition camera. That footage will later be shared with guests during special presentations.

Guests also have special privileges to enter Tongass National Forest under a Forest Service Special Use Permit and access to Glacier Bay National Park.

Prices for Exploring Alaska’s Coastal Wilderness begin at $5,990 per person, double occupancy, and $7,690 for Alaska, British Columbia and San Juan Islands.
