EXCLUSIVE: America's Vacation Center Opening East Coast Office

America's Vacation Center exclusively tells Travel Agent that it will open a second office in south Florida by the third quarter. AVC, a member of the American Express Travel Network, maintains its global headquarters in San Diego. "It will be another nerve center," says Jeff Anderson, vice president of marketing for America's Vacation Center. "The vendors wanted us out there, which prompted us to open another location." An office in south Florida allows AVC to offer service support on both west coast and east coast time, while also having an office where there is a high concentration of travel agents. Currently, AVC has a 10 to 1 agent to support-staff ratio. Meanwhile, AVC's second travel executive forum will take place Apr. 24, and feature Adam Goldstein, president of Royal Caribbean International.
