During a walkthrough at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa, Travel Agent learned of several new developments at the property. Renovations of the hotel's rooms will soon commence, including removing armoires in the rooms, adding 32" plasma TVs, and replacing guest floor hallway carpets. The project will target three floors at a time and will not impact the guest experience. The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa is also offering a group booking incentives for bookings made within the year, for stays within the year. Groups will automatically receive a one category room upgrade and free in-room WiFi Internet access. The hotel will also split the cost of a two hour cocktail reception for the group. Look for the hotel to also start its own surf school this July. Although details have yet to be determined, the hotel will partner with a recognized surf competition champion. Plans are to keep the classes small, with no more than six students per instructor. The classes will take place off the beach directly across from the hotel.
