Hawaii Governor Calls For Higher Park Spending

In a wide-ranging annual state of the state address on Monday, Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle included a funding request that would enhance visitors' vacation experience. She called on the Hawaii legislature to provide an additional $10 million during its 2006 session to be used to repair the state's parks. Lingle also pledged her continued support for programs and efforts that preserve the Hawaiian culture, and praised Hawaii's modern multicultural environment.
