Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art (BGFA) presents “Painting Women: Works From the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” opening Feb. 14, 2014.
Organized in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), the collection will display 34 paintings spanning 90 years (1860-1950), telling the story of women artists, activists and achievements in art.
The exhibition will have a series with paintings of female artists, as well as a survey of work by women artists including Mary Cassatt, Georgia O’Keeffe and Berthe Morisot. A portrait by French painter Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun will introduce the series. The works will be arranged thematically from the 1870s to the mid-20th century. The exhibit also will include examples of successful artistic partnerships between men and women, such as the work of Philip and Lilian Hale.
“Painting Women: Works from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston” will be on view Feb. 14, 2014 through Oct. 23, 2014. Tickets are $16 for general admission; $13 for Nevada residents and seniors 65 and older; and $11 for students, teachers and military with valid ID. Children 12 and younger are free.
