If a shotgun wedding replete with Elvis impersonator isn’t your client’s idea of a luxurious nuptial experience, here are some unique options to explore for an unforgettable ceremony.
“We have a new suite package, added a commitment ceremony package and are offering a brand-new package with our courtyard, an open area that can hold up to 10 people,” said Aida Bouaoun, wedding chapel manager of Bellagio. “Everything is selling very well. We figured because of the economy, we’re not going to increase our prices, but we are increasing amenities to give guests more incentive to buy. We’re seeing a large number of guests wanting to be at Bellagio.”
At the Bellagio, which features a more traditional wedding chapel in addition to other ceremonies, a team of wedding coordinators helps take stress out of the setup for brides. “We offer our exclusive customer service, with nine wedding coordinators who are really talented, proactive and go above and beyond to make the guests happy,” said Bouaoun. “We do not have a commission program for travel agents, but we will do anything to make our guests happy. Bellagio gets a lot of references from all over the world, agents calling from all over. When agents book for rooms, they do get a commission.”
The Bellagio has numerous areas where weddings and receptions can take place. However, the property’s newest lounge, Hyde, must be booked through the operator SBE. “We have the most beautiful terrace in the world, the two-tier level Terrazza di Sogno [Terrace of Dreams],” said Bouaoun. The terrace can accommodate up to 34 guests and gives your ceremony the perspective of overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. “When the guests are on the terrace, at the moment of the kiss the Bellagio fountain soars to the sky, a selected song plays from the music list, and everybody has goose bumps from the couple to the family and friends. It is an extraordinary setting where couples can create special memories and get DVDs of the ceremony that can be uploaded to Internet.”
If your client is looking for a one-of-a-kind sensual experience, Caesars Palace rolls out a customizable aromatherapy package that focuses on the meaning behind the flowers in the wedding bouquet. “We recently created an aromatherapy package, something that no one has done in the industry before,” said Desirae Parker, weddings services manager for Caesars Palace. “It incorporates the different flowers with meaning in the wedding bouquet. We usually concentrate on color scheme at weddings, but don’t necessarily understand what the flowers represent. The package also includes Cleopatra’s Arsenal, different essential oils and massage packages.”
In keeping with the resort’s classical theme, the bride and groom can even be carried to the altar on a litter. “The wedding coordinator takes the bride’s hand—we have brides that never want to talk to us and others who want to talk every day,” said Parker. “We don’t expect guests to know anything and we go through every single detail, giving brides feedback on how they should proceed with their wedding. We build a rapport with them so it becomes stress-free, and our wedding coordinators build a relationship with each and every couple.”
At The Mirage, guests can customize their ceremony to take place with the property’s signature Volcano. “We organize ceremonies in several different locations, one is the Volcano where we host day and evening ceremonies,” said Rachel Diaz, wedding manager at The Mirage. “In the evening, we time the Volcano show with the ceremony so the evening is more popular than daytime. Everyone loves the show and it’s something very unique.”
The property also gives a seamless planning experience, with one representative guiding guests through the booking and wedding execution process. “We’re very unique in comparison to other Strip properties, since most have a disconnection between the ceremony and reception,” said Diaz. “We are one department that executes both weddings and receptions. Guests have one contact from where they come in through execution. Clients seem to love that because they ask who to talk to about reception and I say, me! It’s very convenient so people really enjoy that element.”
Hotel rooms at The Mirage are commissionable to travel agents, as well. “The hotel rooms are commissionable, which is a perk for travel agents in bringing clients here,” said Diaz. “The places you send your clients to are a direct reflection of you. It will be an excellent reflection on the travel agents to send their clients here.”
At Wynn Las Vegas, your clients can have an elegant wedding, small or large, uniquely personalized to their special needs. Weddings at Wynn range from “Just the Basics,” $1,190 for a maximum of 20 guests, to the ultimate “Elegant Affair Ceremony,” priced at $23,090. A “Forever Ceremony” for vow renewals is available for $990 and the Primrose Court, a private courtyard for up to 100 guests, can be rented for $1,500 an hour, exclusive of food and beverages.
The wedding chapels at Treasure Island are designed in champagne tones, with stately marble altars and elaborate floral arrangements providing an ideal setting for any type of romantic ceremony. Three unique wedding packages are now commissionable to travel agents.
The Venetian, appropriately enough, includes two “Gondola” options among its many wedding packages. Other indoor wedding sites include four themed wedding chapels (Jasmine, Gardenia, Magnolia and Princess), the “Bridge of Love” and the Palazzo Waterfall. Outdoor venues include the Magnolia Terrace plus garden, courtyard, rotunda and poolside cabana settings.
At the MGM Grand, couples can choose from two beautifully appointed wedding chapels, adorned in tones of ivory and pearl with delicate accents of rose illuminated by a chandelier overhead and complemented by richly carpeted floors. For wedding parties of 70 guests, Forever Grand’s Legacy Chapel is a perfect setting. If a more intimate ceremony is preferred, choose the Cherish Chapel for parties of 45 guests. In either setting, your clients’ wedding day will be accompanied by the romantic music of their choice played on a baby grand piano. Three video cameras are discreetly positioned in each of the chapels to capture these memories.
