Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts signed a management agreement with Boyd Gaming Corp. to operate the 400-room Shangri-La Hotel, Las Vegas. The hotel is slated to open in early 2010 as part of the recently announced Echelon Place development located on the Las Vegas Strip. The Echelon Place project will include four hotels, casino, two entertainment theaters, a retail complex and meeting and convention facilities. The Shangri-La Hotel, Las Vegas will feature 300 rooms and 100 suites, the largest CHI spa in North America, restaurants and 20,000 square feet of meeting space. The Las Vegas project marks Shangri-La's third U.S. project under development. The Shangri-La Hotel, Miami is scheduled to open in 2008, while the Shangri-La Hotel, Chicago will open in 2009.
