SkyVue Completes First Phase

May 22, 2012 By: Newswire

Visitors will soon be able to see Las Vegas in a whole new way with SkyVue, the largest observation wheel in the Western Hemisphere. The first stage of construction is complete, and the 500 square-foot wheel, situated across from Mandalay Bay, is beginning to stretch toward the sky.

SkyVue will feature a 50,000 square-foot LED screen for hosting concerts, sporting events, product launches, and more. Visitors will step into one of 32 climate-controlled, glass-walled gondolas to take in panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip. The gondolas will also be available for private and corporate events.

SkyVue will also offer a two-story shopping and dining venue, with 140,000 square-feet of retail space, and a 21,000 square-foot convention facility and food court, expected to draw between five and eight million consumers annually. The project will also bring over 700 construction jobs, as well as an estimated 500 full-time positions in entertainment, dining, and retail to the community.
