UPDATED - Explosions at Boston Marathon Injure Bystanders

bostonToday, runners took to the streets of Boston for the annual Marathon, but two explosions near the finish line of the course have reportedly caused numerous injuries. 

According to local station WCVB, explosions were reported near the Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston Street, a major east-west thoroughfare in the city.

Crews were sent to 617 Boylston St. at about 2:30 p.m. Witnesses said several victims lost limbs, and the area was being evacuated. Many of the injured appeared to be spectators who gathered for the 117th running of the race.

UPDATE: 3:45 P.M. - The Boston Globe is reporting that the Lenox Hotel is being evacuated. The New York Times is reporting that guests inside the Copley Plaza Hotel, where many elite athletes are staying, were unable to leave.

UPDATE: 4:30 P.M. - CBS News is reporting that the FAA is putting up temporary flight restrictions over part of the Boston area in the wake of the explosions.
