Utah to Host Ski Champion's Homecoming

Ski jumpSki fans won’t want to miss the free event to welcome home U.S. Ski Team alpine racer Ted Ligety from a historic World Cup season, to be held at Park City Mountain Resort, Utah, on April 6th.

Ligety is the first non-European ever to win three championship races, the giant slalom, super G, and combined, and the first man to do it in 45 years.  He also won six World Cup giant slalom events, finishing third in the overall standings, and wrapped his season by winning men’s slalom at the U.S. Alpine Championship.

Park City Resort, the Park City Ski Team, and U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association will host the homecoming celebration, which begins at 1 p.m.  The program includes remarks from previous world champion Stein Eriksen, a meet and great with Ligety and live music featuring Bryon Friedman, on PayDay Deck at the Legacy Lodge.  The resort is a 35 minute drive from Salt Lake City International Airport
