Los Cabos Tourism Board: Destination Not Affected By Henriette

The Los Cabos Tourism Board announced Wednesday that the destination, its airport and all hotels are resuming normal operations. Los Cabos weathered Hurricane Henriette as the low level Category 1 storm passed over the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula on Tuesda. Javier Martinez, Director of the San Jose del Cabo International Airport reports that the airport reopened Wednesday morning after a 24-hour closure as a precautionary safety measure. The airport did not incur any damage and is now fully operational with all airlines having returned to their normal flight schedules. Roads throughout Los Cabos are in good condition and local police offices indicate that there were no storm-related accidents to report. Electric and telephone services additionally remained operational throughout Hurricane Henriette without major interruption. Los Cabos hotel occupancy is currently at 65 percent with about 12,000 tourists in the destination.
