Accor Signs Six-Ibis China Deal

Accor has signed an agreement to manage six new hotels bearing the Ibis brand in Sichuan province. The hotels will be developed at a total cost of $150 million. Three will be in Chengdu; the others will be in nearby Yi Bing, Ya An and De Nang. This announcement comes on the heels of word that Accor will manage a new 440-room hotel, the Sofitel Macau@Ponte 16. That hotel will comprise the second phase of a casino development, the first phase of which is set to open at the end of this year. The hotel is slated to open late next year.
