Blue Diamond to Operate Breezes Grand Negril Under Memories Brand

Breezes Grand Negril Resort & Spa in Jamaica

John Issa, chairman of SuperClubs, announced Wednesday the sale of Breezes Grand Negril Resort & Spa in Jamaica.

The management of the hotel will be taken over by Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts, a division of Sunwing Travel Group. The property will be rebranded to Memories Negril Resort & Spa effective April 17.

SuperClubs and Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts are working together to ensure a smooth transition of ownership with no interruption to service. The resort will remain open, most of the staff will remain in place, and all reservations will be honored. The 22-acre, all-suite hotel sits on an impressive stretch of white sand beach on Jamaica’s western shore, and features six restaurants, six bars, three freshwater pools, Jacuzzis, and an on-site spa.

“We are excited to add this property to our growing collection as it boasts some of the best beach in Negril. We look forward to unveiling the Memories Negril Resort & Spa and to maintaining the high standard for which Breezes Grand is known,” said Stephen Hunter, president and CEO of the Sunwing Travel Group, in a written release.

In addition to its two ROOMS hotels and Jamaica’s Negril Beach Villa, SuperClubs continues to operate Breezes Bahamas Resort & Spa as well as Breezes Varadero, Breezes Bella Costa and Breezes Jibacoa in Cuba.

“It’s no secret our focus over the last few years has shifted,” said Issa. “This sale of Breezes Grand Negril concludes our restructuring plans and now we can focus on our expansion program in the Northern Caribbean.
