Beijing Appeals to Families with Happy Snow World

Beijing is looking to get a little piece of the post-Olympics action. When a destination hosts the Olympics it is pretty much setting itself up for great tourism numbers in the following years. Just look at Sydney and Barcelona, whose tourism percentages saw significant increases in the years after they hosted the Olympics.

This winter Beijing is using the draw of its past Olympic fame to lure in tourists. The Bird's Nest Olympic stadium will be converted into a "Happy Snow World" for families to come and participate in a variety of winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, winter games and skating.

If after visiting Happy Snow World you still haven't gotten your winter family fix, try skating on Houhai Lake or skiing an Jundushan Ski Resort.

Happy Snow World will be open from December 19 through February 20.
