Travel Agent saw its third resort in Belize last night during a week-long stay here.
I arrived at Azul Hotel on Wednesday night and was greeted by co-owner Vivian Yu, who treated me to dinner and showed me around.
Before I tell you how great the rooms and the food were, you need to know that this is not a Karisma resort. Yu told me clients and agents tend to get the resort confused with the all-inclusive Azul properties in Mexico.
The resort is very small and very casual. It has only two villas. The one I saw was the two-bedroom villa with three floors, including a roof with a Jacuzzi on it overlooking the water. Rates here are roughly $500 a night per person.
The food was excellent, Yu’s husband is also the executive chef on property. Yu ordered about seven items off the menu for us from wontons to ribs to conch to you name.
I recommend the resort for affluent couples looking for some barefoot luxury.
