“SXM Festival” Returns for 2023 Edition

SXM Festival” returns for its sixth edition this year, March 8-12. Offering a musical and cultural experience, the festival takes over an entire island—split between its northern French side, St. Martin, and the southern Dutch side, Sint Maarten. Since its debut in 2016, “SXM Festival” has been a mix of Caribbean, French and Dutch culture, with audience from over 35 countries and local enthusiasts gathering for some of the best underground electronic music talent on the planet.

Phase One of the festival’s lineup includes Grammy-nominated, triple-platinum production duo CamelPhat, Music On leader Marco Carola, electronic producer Dubfire, and the musical experience of Astra Club—a set from DJ Tennis and Carlita. Additional highlights include Francesca Lombardo, Gordo, Brazilian DJ and producer Mochakk, Swiss favorite Sonja Moonear, techno veteran Rodriguez Jr, West African DJ and producer AMÉMÉ, Palestinian DJ Maher Daniel, French exports Apollonia and YokoO, Berlin-based DJ and producer Gene On Earth, and German producer and co-founder of the Common Sense People event series Konstantin Sibold. A diversity of styles round out the lineup from the likes of Doc Martin, Moscow Records and Moss Co. label head Archie Hamilton, the "mystical melodic" sounds of Deer Jade, and psychedelic house producer Mita Gami, to name a few. Phase Two of the lineup of artists will be announced at the end of January.

Party venues include the Happy Bay, a secluded private beach nestled in the jungle. It serves as the main evening venue and is home to the Arc Main Stage and the Ocean Stage. Other highlights include Boho Beach Club, besides the Villa Party, accessible only with a VIP ticket.

They are also guaranteed first access to the exclusive limited-capacity events including the Panorama Party and Boat Party. The Panorama Party gives attendees the chance to party at the peak of Sint Maarten’s highest mountain with 360-degree views of the Caribbean sunset. The Boat Party sets sail at sunset on the largest lagoon in the Caribbean. This year, 100 guests can board a new catamaran cruise with food, drinks and a surprise DJ. VIP Tickets also allow advanced table bookings for each venue.

Good to know: “SXM Festival” is dedicated to leaving a smaller footprint and includes initiatives such as going paperless, planting palm trees, saving energy with LED and solar lights, and eliminating plastic waste throughout the festival. It also has a no-trace policy: Every venue is transformed to be more beautiful at the end of each event.
