Cruise Ship Tour: Inside the New Norwegian Encore

Travel Agent sailed on the new Norwegian Encore late last week, so check out our original slide show above showing some of the ship’s spaces. Carrying approximately 4,000 passengers, the ship is the fourth and final of Norwegian Cruise Line’s “Breakaway Plus” class of vessel.

Among the Norwegian Encore's highlights:

  • Onda by Scarpetta, a new high-end Italian dining experience in collaboration with LDV Hospitality.
  • Full-blown Broadway production shows – "Kinky Boots," "The Choir of Man" and "Happy Hour Prohibition: The Musical," plus the more intimate experience of "Beatles cover band" music in The Cavern Club.
  • The two-level Norwegian Encore Speedway, the largest such racetrack at sea, has curves suspended 13 feet over the ship's side.
  • An eerie place to play laser tag enhanced with augmented reality? Check out the lost city of Atlantis. Among its architectural features is a massive snake with a raised head and coils.
  • Teens and adults who are techie fans will likely love the virtual world of Galaxy Pavilion.
  • Ocean Loops, a fun waterslide, extends out over the ship’s side in the Aqua Park.
  • For a retro 1950's experience, The Diner has classic car seating and tables with surfaces made of license plates.
  • The Haven, the line's exclusive ship-within-a-ship complex, has its own private pool, bar, observation lounge, restaurant, lounge and more.
  • The wrap-around Observation Lounge, a humongous lounging space for all guests, is one of the ship's most beloved features, as it is on Norwegian Bliss.
  • An unusual art piece/chandelier in 678 Ocean Place (shown at right) changes from white to green, red and other colors.

Norwegian Encore is now sailing to the eastern Caribbean from Miami, and starting in late April will sail to Bermuda and Canada/New England from Miami. Starting December 12, 2020, the ship will operate western Caribbean voyages from Miami.

In Monday’s cruise newsletter, look for an original slide show and details about Silver Cove, the new exclusive oceanfront resort-style destination on Norwegian’s 270-acre tropical private island, Great Stirrup Cay. Silver Cove is a limited-access beachfront lagoon area with 38 air-conditioned villas, a Mandara Spa, Moet Bar and the Silver Cove Restaurant and Bar.
