Amadeus, Disney Cruise Announce New Cruise Deal

Amadeus has reached an agreement with Disney Cruise Line to distribute its products using the Amadeus System in the U.S. and Canadian markets. Other markets are currently being discussed and will be announced at a later date, Amadeus said. The expansion permits a further diversification of the Amadeus Cruise Distribution Solutions portfolio that now offers 22 cruise lines. This covers more than 95 percent of the world cruise inventory, the highest of all global distribution systems, Amadeus said.

Disney Cruise Line will be distributed via all of the following Amadeus solutions:

*    Amadeus Cruise - a distribution, marketing and sales tool, providing direct access to cruise company reservation systems to obtain real-time information, enabling agents to sell simply and quickly.
*    Amadeus e-Cruise - a solution which delivers the latest IT architecture in a fully integrated and multi-channel Internet-based system, equipped with a consumer booking site, an agent desktop application and a flexible suite of reporting tools.
*    Amadeus Cruise API/Web Services - a distribution, sales and marketing tool which enables you to program your own B2B and B2C applications, from web booking engines to front office systems, to interface with the Amadeus System.
*    Amadeus Cruise Data Cache - a product which develops the ability to quickly and efficiently capture and refresh relevant cruise data and periodically generate cruise content files.

Twenty-two cruise lines participate in Amadeus' global cruise solutions portfolio, including:

Carnival Cruise Line; Fred Olsen Cruises; Royal Caribbean International; Yachts of Seabourn; Celebrity Cruises; Cunard Cruise Line; Costa Cruise; Oceania Cruises; Princess Cruises; MSC Cruises; Holland America Line; Star Cruises; Norwegian Cruise Line; Azamara Cruises; easyCruise; P&O Cruises; Ocean Village Cruise Holidays UK; Viking River Cruises; Hurtigruten; Disney Cruise Line; Silverseas; Louis Cruise Line.

For the 2010 European season, each itinerary offers Port Adventures that include distinctly Disney touches, storytelling and some even feature beloved characters.

Disney Cruise Line recently began construction of two new ships, the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. Scheduled to launch in 2011 and 2012 respectively, these new ships will more than double the passenger capacity for Disney Cruise Line to meet the sustained demand for family cruise vacations.
