AmaWaterways Opens 2024 River Cruise Bookings

AmaWaterways has announced that travelers can book cruise vacations on all 2024 itineraries on the rivers of Europe, Africa, Egypt and Asia. Here's what's planned...

With a second ship for the Nile, extended seasons on the Douro, Rhine and Danube rivers, and a new itinerary on the Saône River through the Burgundy region of France, there is much to discover in 2024 with AmaWaterways. Tip: To assist travel advisors with securing groups, the line has extended its pre- or post-cruise “Complimentary Land Package” offer to groups-only traveling on select departures in 2024 with a confirmed group contract and goodwill deposit submitted by December 31, 2022.

The line’s “Seven River Journeys” became a first-ever experience for the river cruise industry when launched in 2021. For 2024, two new journeys offer 49 nights cruising the full length of the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, visiting 15 countries onboard AmaMora. Another first for the luxury line, guests on both sailings are invited to expand their exploration into the southern tip of the Danube Delta region that leads to the Black Sea.

AmaWaterways has extended its Portugal river cruising season for 2024 with additional sailings round trip from Porto onboard AmaDouro. Travelers will have the opportunity to experience the golden fall foliage along the banks of the Douro River and, for the first time, explore this popular destination throughout December, with the final Christmas departure on December 21, 2024.

New for 2024, a seven-night “Flavors of Burgundy” itinerary traveling on the Saône River between Dijon and Lyon offers guests the chance to explore the wine-producing and culinary region of France. Guests have the option of disembarking their first seven-night cruise aboard AmaCello in Lyon and boarding AmaKristina for an additional seven nights on the “Colors of Provence” cruise between Lyon and Arles. Good to know: AmaWaterways offers a 10 percent combination cruise discount on all second and subsequent river cruises. This brings the number to six unique itineraries in France with optional pre- and post-cruise stays in Paris, Barcelona, Bilboa, Geneva and Nice.

For 2024, AmaMagna, the most luxurious ship on the Danube, offers an early start to the river cruise season on February 11 with its itinerary cruising between Vilshofen and Budapest. In addition, AmaViola offers a series of six “Celebration of Classical Music: The Danube” departures between Budapest and Vienna. Also available in 2024 are six festive December departures on the five-night “Majestic Capitals of the Danube” itinerary visiting Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest with pre- or post-cruise land packages in Krakow and Prague.

AmaLucia kicks off its new Rhine season on February 11, 2024. For those looking to discover Western and Central Europe, AmaWaterways offers 10 itineraries spanning seven, 10 and 11 nights, along the Rhine, Main and Moselle rivers. Travelers can hike, bike and explore their way through the Netherlands, Germany, France and Switzerland. They can also extend their stay with optional pre- and post-cruise land packages in Amsterdam, Lucerne, Zurich and Prague. Guests opting for land packages are escorted throughout their journeys by the line’s cruise managers.

On the “Dutch and Belgian Waterways” itinerary, travelers can explore several towns and WWII landmarks such as Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels and Gent. Guests can enjoy excursions on these itineraries, from tulip farms in Hoorn within AmaWaterways’ spring-only “Tulip Time” sailings to the Roosevelt family home in Veere and full-day tours of Bruges on the “Best of Holland & Belgium” cruises.

Following a successful season of sailing with AmaDahlia, AmaWaterways will set sail with its second ship on the Nile, AmaLilia, starting March 4, 2024. Both the sister ships will sail the same “Secrets of Egypt & Nile” itinerary departing on different days, offering a 11-night cruise and land experience that includes a seven-night roundtrip river cruise from Luxor, paired with three nights pre- and one-night post-cruise stays in Cairo. Popular optional land packages paired with this destination include Dubai, Jordan and Israel.

Travelers can sail along Africa’s Chobe River aboard the Zambezi Queen and choose from five itineraries, including “Discover Africa” and “Stars of South Africa.” AmaWaterways’ Africa itineraries combine the four-night river-cruise experience with the choice of wildlife land safaris, city stays or cross-country rail travel.

Deal: Guests can save 5 percent on balcony staterooms and suites by placing a deposit for their 2024 river cruise by December 31, 2022.
