American Queen Steamboat Company to Host Holiday Cruises

The American Queen Steamboat Company is unleashing its expanded fleet during this year’s holiday season, hosting voyages on the American Queen, American Empress, as well as the American Duchess, the company’s latest vessel.

This is the second year in a row that the American Steamboat Company is hosting holiday voyages. These trips will start in mid-November and last through the New Year. Both the American Duchess as well as the American Queen will offer itineraries cruising along the Lower Mississippi River and its largest tributaries, allowing voyagers to experience America’s southern history along with music and seasonal and locally produced crafts and goods from Christmas markets along the river.

There will also be onboard entertainment, strolling carolers in St. Francisville, Louisiana, and departure serenades from the levees in Vicksburg and Natchez, Mississippi, the company said in a written release. With these holiday offers, guests can also book music themed cruises, allowing them to discover the musical heritage from the Mississippi Delta onto Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee

Two American Empress cruise ships will also be offered for the first time this year as part of the offer. These itineraries will consist of sailing through the Pacific Northwest and exploring the landscapes of wine country along the Columbia River.
