Artemis Buys Ponant

ponantPonant has announced that the small ship cruise line has completed its buyout by Artemis, the holding company of the Pinault family. 

For the past three years, Ponant had been owned by European investor Bridgepoint, which allowed the line to launch and finance new ships, open new offices in Australia and China and acquire part of Travel Dynamics International, an operator of high-caliber educational programs aboard small cruise ships, said Jean-Emmanuel Sauvée, co-founder and CEO of Ponant.

The new ownership will allow the line to ramp up its internationalization program, consolidating the company's position in France, Switzerland and Belgium and entering a new phase in its development, Ponant said.
