Avalon Waterways Unveils Agent Program

Fed in part by a big ship traveler base and cruisers looking for new, in-depth experiences, river cruising is dominating the market in 2010, Avalon Waterways says, offering agents the chance to participate in a new Specialist Program.

“Since 2004, international river cruise bookings have grown by more than 200 percent,” said Patrick Clark, managing director of Avalon Waterways. “With our new Specialist Program, we’re helping ensure agents don’t miss the river cruise boat, and specifically, the commissions and profits that come from selling this unique travel style.”

To become an Avalon Waterways Specialist, agents must: 1) Attend a four-part Avalon Waterways Webinar Series; 2) Complete two Travel University courses; and 3) Watch a video preview showcasing Avalon’s 2011 news.

“Agents have the option to attend our four-part Webinar series live or via an archived feed,” said Alleigh Stadtmueller, training specialist for the Globus family of brands. “Our first Webinar airs on May 13 and topics range from showcasing insight into the travel style and growth potential through group sales to Avalon’s 2011 offerings.”

Agents who complete Avalon Waterways’ new Specialist Program will receive specialist designation, a certificate of completion, an exclusive specialist logo, booking incentives, high-quality marketing materials, an invitation to Avalon’s “Seminar at SEE” sailing, the chance to win a free river cruise for two, CLIA Credits, eight CEUs with The Travel Institute and exclusive access to special offers and promotions.
