Carnival Corporation is riding a wave of unprecedented demand, reporting record second-quarter 2026 revenues as travelers continue booking cruises further out than ever before. For travel advisors, the message is clear: Secure your clients' vacations early, as inventory for the remainder of 2026 is highly constrained and 2027 sailings are already pacing well ahead of previous years.

The cruise giant reached an all-time high of $9 billion in customer deposits, underscoring the strong consumer appetite for cruise vacations despite recent global challenges.

"We achieved another quarter of record results, marking our twelfth consecutive quarter of record net yields and delivering over 20 percent more to the bottom line, overcoming extreme geopolitical headwinds and nearly 30 percent higher fuel costs," said Carnival Corp. CEO Josh Weinstein in prepared remarks. "Continued commercial execution and a step up in our cost efficiency efforts enabled us to exceed our March guidance by $100 million. These results reflect the strong demand for our portfolio of world-class cruise lines and the continued progress we are making across the business."

Booking Trends

While ongoing conflict in the Middle East impacted some European deployments, Carnival held firm on pricing, leveraging its strong booked position.

"Our booked position for the second half of 2026 is higher than last year, at historically high prices (in constant currency), despite navigating more than a full quarter of extreme geopolitical volatility that primarily impacted booking trends for our European deployments, particularly in the Mediterranean region, which were closest in proximity to the conflict in the Middle East," Weinstein said. "For those deployments, we leaned into the substantial occupancy advantage we had strategically built to deliberately prioritize pricing integrity. We are now 93 percent booked for the year with less inventory remaining for sale than this time last year and are on track for record net yields in the second half of 2026."

Looking ahead, advisors should note that long-term demand remains exceptionally robust.

"Looking further out, demand for 2027 and beyond remains strong," Weinstein said. "Since March, booking volumes and prices for these future sailings have been running ahead of prior year levels, including a substantial increase in bookings for our European deployments next year. These trends reinforce our confidence in the longer-term demand environment."

"Our booking curve remains the furthest out on record, reflecting the power of our world-class portfolio of cruise lines, the durability of our demand generation efforts and the exceptional vacation experiences we deliver," he added. "Continued strength in demand is also reflected in higher second quarter onboard revenues, increased pre-cruise onboard sales and record customer deposits."

Major Fleet and Destination Enhancements

Beyond the booking surge, Carnival Corporation announced significant hardware and destination upgrades that will dramatically expand product offerings for travelers:

  • Three New Ships for Princess: Carnival has ordered three new LNG-powered ships for Princess Cruises. Scheduled for delivery in 2035, 2038, and 2039, they will introduce the new "Voyager Class" and become the largest ships in the Princess fleet.

  • Fleet Modernization: Holland America Line is rolling out its new "Evolution Program," designed to enhance the guest experience through expanded onboard offerings and reimagined spaces. Additionally, AIDAbella recently became the third ship to complete major upgrades under the AIDA Evolution modernization program.

  • Paradise Collection Expansions: The company's private destinations are receiving major infrastructure upgrades. Celebration Key has already welcomed over two million guests since opening in July 2025, and a newly completed pier extension now allows four ships to dock simultaneously. At Half Moon Cay, a new pier at "RelaxAway" allows two cruise ships to dock alongside ongoing tender operations. Finally, Mahogany Bay has been officially renamed Isla Tropicale, debuting a new 48,000-square-foot recreational area equipped with a feature pool, swim-up bar, splash pad, and a variety of cabanas and daybeds.
