Carnival Ecstasy Wraps Big Renovation Project

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that the Charleston, SC-based Carnival Ecstasy has undergone a multimillion-dollar renovation that has added a variety of new dining and beverage concepts.

The features were incorporated during a two-week dry dock that took place from January 10-24 in Freeport, the Bahamas.

Following the renovation, the ship returned to Charleston yesterday to resume its year-round schedule of four- to 10-day departures from that port.

Here’s a look at what’s new:

  • Guy’s Burger Joint, a free-of-charge poolside venue developed in partnership with Food Network personality Guy Fieri serving burgers and fries with décor that celebrates the chef’s California roots and love of car culture
  • BlueIguana Cantina, a complimentary poolside Mexican eatery where guests can enjoy burritos and tacos, as well as a toppings and salsa bar
  • Alchemy Bar, a “cocktail pharmacy”-themed lounge with mixologists who “prescribe” concoctions from different elixirs and ingredients with creative monikers like Forty is the New Twenty and The Restorative Basil Drop
  • Cherry On Top, with bins of bulk candy, gifts and novelties, custom apparel and more

The new spaces complement Carnival Ecstasy’s existing onboard features, including the poolside RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar, a massive WaterWorks aqua park, a Serenity adults-only retreat, and a luxurious Spa Carnival health and wellness facility.

Carnival Ecstasy’s schedule from Charleston encompasses year-round four- to seven-day cruises visiting destinations throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean. The ship will also operate a 10-day Carnival Journeys Caribbean voyage round-trip from Charleston November 5-15.
