Carnival Horizon Undergoes Sea Trials; Line Releases Virtual Tour

Carnival Horizon

The Carnival Horizon, the newest upcoming ship from Carnival Cruise Line, took part in its sea trials over the weekend. As it returned to the shipyard in Palermo, Italy, Carnival released a virtual tour of the vessel, which is set to debut in spring 2018.

Carnival Cruise Line brand ambassador John Heald released photos and videos of the sea trials over the weekend on his Facebook page.

The virtual tour highlights some of the ship’s new amenities, like the Guy Fieri Smokehouse Brewhouse BBQ restaurant, which serves four different craft beers brewed on board; the line’s first teppanyaki venue; and the colorful Dr. Seuss WaterWorks park, with popular characters including The Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, Carnival Horizon is set to debut April 2, 2018, with an inaugural 13-day cruise from Barcelona – the first of four departures from that port. The ship then repositions to New York for a summer schedule of four-day Bermuda and eight-day Caribbean voyages before heading to Miami to begin year-round six- and eight-day Caribbean departures in September.
