Music lovers at the Papenburg Music Festival got a chance to attend a concert at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany with Celebrity Cruises’ soon-to-be-launched Silhouette as the dramatic backdrop.

More than 25,000 attendees rocked to the sounds of The Scorpions, currently on their farewell tour. The concert also featured performances by Juli, Ich + Ich and Stanfour.

The Celebrity Silhouette, Celebrity’s newest Solstice-class ship, is set to depart the shipyard later this week and traverse the River Ems during an event known as the “Conveyance.” The ship will be named in a ceremony in Hamburg on July 21 before she enters service July 23.

With a guest-to-staff ratio of nearly two to one, Celebrity Cruises is a premium cruise line with itineraries in Alaska, Australia / New Zealand, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, South America and the Galapagos Islands.  The Celebrity fleet currently consists of nine ships, with two more Solstice-class vessels set to join: the Celebrity Silhouette in July 2011, and the Celebrity Reflection in Fall 2012.
