Celestyal Journey Debuts in September After $21 Million Upgrade

Following an extensive refurbishment and technical maintenance overhaul totaling nearly $21 million, Celestyal’s newest ship Celestyal Journey will set sail on September 2, 2023. It will take over the Celestyal Crystal’s program, initially on its seven-night “Idyllic Aegean” itinerary.

The 1,260-guest, mid-sized vessel offers 630 staterooms, 149 of which have balconies—three times that of the previously available balcony staterooms on Celestyal’s seven-night offering. Of the 149 balcony staterooms, 120 are Junior Suites, 28 are Grand Suites and one is a Penthouse Concept Suite.

The Celestyal Journey also offers guests a larger range of dining options, with seven venues including specialty and themed restaurants. The ship will also have a cooking demonstration area and a Chef’s Table venue, ideal for celebrating occasions with friends or for private group functions. Eight bars and lounges round out the vessel’s F&B offerings.

Celestyal Journey has expansive sundecks with two pools and two jacuzzis, besides the Beach Club, which will be available for exclusive use by all Grand Suite and Junior Suite guests. Guests booked in Grand Suites will also have access to the line’s concierge service, which includes a dedicated priority check-in counter, expedited embarkation and express luggage delivery and unpacking services. A concierge will be available in the exclusive-use Poseidon Lounge to assist Grand Suite guests with service requests.

Other facilities include a spa, fitness and wellness area offering ocean views, two conference rooms and a multi-purpose amphitheater complete with a cinema.

Celestyal Journey departs October 14, 2023 on the “Steps of Paul” itinerary, followed by the seven-night “Three Continents” itinerary, visiting Greece, Egypt, Israel, Cyprus and Turkey, from October through December. This will be followed by a 19-night, special Christmas sailing calling on Thessaloniki, Volos, Rhodes, Crete, Izmir, Kusadasi, Antalya, Istanbul, Limassol, Alexandria and an overnight visit in Haifa to spend both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in the “Holy Land.” This can also be split into eight- or nine-night itineraries.

Guests holding reservations on the Celestyal Crystal from September 2, 2023, onwards will be contacted and re-accommodated on sailings aboard the Celestyal Journey.
