This holiday season, river cruise line AmaWaterways is offering a Companion Flies Free promotion on select holiday sailings this December. The promotion offers free airfare from anywhere in the U.S. as well as select cities in Canada when a companion purchases airfare from AmaWaterways at the published brochure rate.

The Companion Flies Free promotion is available on seven-night Christmas Time cruise bookings from Nuremberg, Germany, to Budapest, Hungary, or the reverse, with U.S. departure dates of December 15, 17, 18 and 23, 2011. Calls include the medieval sites of Regensburg, Germany, and Vienna, Austria, where guests can visit Christmas markets (most of which are open through December 23).

The Companion Flies Free offer is also available on a special nine-night Christmas and New Year’s Celebration Cruise from Nuremberg to Amsterdam, the Netherlands with a U.S. departure date of December 20, 2011. This cruise includes two complimentary nights onboard the MS Amalegro in Amsterdam, as well as Christmas and New Year’s Eve gala celebrations onboard. A pre-cruise land program in Prague, Czech Republic, is also available.

“Many guests tell us that the holiday season is their favorite time to visit Europe.  Towns and villages are aglow with decorations, bustling Christmas markets and a warm, welcoming sprit.  Our ships also join in the festivities, with tree-trimming parties, crew caroling and even a visit from Santa Claus. We’re so happy to provide this exciting opportunity to experience the holiday season with us,” said Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways executive vice president and co-owner.

The Companion Flies Free promotion is applicable on new FIT bookings made through August 31, 2011, and is not combinable with any other promotion or shipboard credit.
