Cruceros Australis Becomes a Member of Virtuoso

Cruceros Australis recently became a member of Virtuoso. Cruceros Australis’ ships operate from September to May each year. Rates for a four-night itinerary from Punta Arenas, Chile to Ushuaia, Argentina, start at $1,198 per person, and rates for a three-night itinerary from Ushuaia, Argentina, to Punta Arenas, Chile, start at $899 per person.

In addition to small group excursions, expedition leaders prepare and present daily lectures in both English and Spanish to complement the educational component of the expedition. The talks take place both on the ship (with audio-visual support) and on land during excursions.

Cruceros Australis employs two ships along the Punta Arenas to Ushuaia route -- Via Australis and Stella Australis. The Stella has a capacity of 210 passengers luxuriating in 100 cabins, each 161 square feet. The ship measures 292 feet long and 47.8 feet wide, and features three lounges equipped with modern audiovisual equipment, a dining room and an exercise room, as well as a spacious deck. Cabin highlights include picture windows, independent climate controls, private bathrooms and a satellite phone.

The Via Australis, built in 2005, has 64 cabins, each with panoramic windows. The five decks of the ship include two lounges and a dining room.
