Cruise West is returning to Europe in 2010 with three 11-night cruises along the Danube, Rhine, Main, and Mosel Rivers.
With two added itineraries, cruises will sail farther west than previous offerings, delving deeper into the medieval towns, cities and monuments. The new Vienna-to-Cologne cruise sails on October 3 for an 11-nigh trip, visiting several historical sights and valleys along the way. Highlights include a 900-year-old Benedictine Melk abbey, and gourmet food in Stromburg. Rates start at $4,999 per person.
Last, but not least, Cruise West’s final departure sails from Cologne to Basel for an 11-night trip departing October 13. Notable sights along the way include the lights of the Gothic towers of Cologne at night, the Rhine Gorge castles, and the well-known Lorelei Rock. Following this up, guests will experience a wine tasting in an Alsatian village, and a piano concert at a castle in Koblenz. Rates for this trip start at $5,299 per person.
