Crystal Symphony Debuts Redesign and New Concepts

Crystal Symphony from Crystal Cruises has completed a month-long drydock complete with newly designed spaces, features, and amenities. The renovated Crystal Symphony offers new dining venues, elegant penthouses and high-tech facilities.

New Penthouses and Penthouse Suites

Crystal Symphony now has even more Penthouses and Penthouse Suites, with the added Seabreeze Penthouse Verandah and Seabreeze Penthouse Suite with Verandah categories (12 and 28 new suites, respectively), both on Deck 9. Penthouse accommodations offer guests all-inclusive Crystal amenities, including butler service, in-room specialty dining and complimentary dining at the on-board specialty restaurants.

The conversion of staterooms into these new penthouse accommodations has reduced the ship’s guest capacity to 848, giving passengers a more spacious and comfortable experience.

New Open Dining Concept and Restaurants

The ship’s culinary experience has also been updated, with a number of new restaurants on board and a new open-seating concept.

  • Waterside: In place of the former Crystal Dining Room, the breakfast and lunch spot added tables for two and four guests and expanded options for intimate dining with increased space.
  • Marketplace/Churrascaria: Moving into the former Lido Café space are Marketplace by day and Churrascaria by night. Both venues have an open kitchen with dishes made to order. Marketplace serves casual buffet style breakfast and lunch options, and is converted into the stylish casual dinner venue in the evening.
  • Silk Kitchen & Bar: Adjacent to the existing Trident Grill on the Lido Deck is this full-service dinner spot, offering modern Chinese-inspired cuisine with family-style dinner plates ideal for sharing. For breakfast and lunch, self-service options include dumplings, Chinois salad, a soup and a noodle bar and other Asian dishes.
  • Umi Uma & Sushi Bar: Silk Road and The Sushi Bar, the dining venues by famed Master Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, have been rebranded to Umi Uma & Sushi Bar. The new venue serves the cuisine of Nobu, prepared by Matsuhisa’s personally trained chefs, and remains the only Nobu restaurant at sea.

Technological Enhancements

With the completion of Crystal Symphony’s dry dock, guests now can enjoy unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi throughout any Crystal voyage aboard all Crystal vessels. Additionally, a new guest portal – Crystal Connect – is now featured on the landing pages of on-board internet connections, and it enables guests to easily access the internet along with an array of shipboard information including daily menus from each restaurant, day and evening activities, shore excursions, and the ship’s location, itinerary, and points of interest.

Each stateroom will be equipped with high-definition, interactive TVs that enable guests to access on-board programs, view the Crystal Spa & Salon menu, the Connoisseur wine selection, and dining menus.

Redesigned Public Spaces and Entertainment

Several shipboard spaces have been reimagined, including the Starlite Club, a hub for evening dancing and cocktails, which was refitted with a new design and technological advancements.

A brand-new production show, Crystal in Motion, showcases the repertoire of the Crystal Ensemble, featuring various genres of music and dance, and replaces the former “welcome aboard” show in the Galaxy Lounge. The ship will also offer evening-long entertainment options around the ship, including acts from the Crystal Ensemble, as well as comedians, ballroom dance group and the Crystal Show Band, performing on select evenings of each voyage.
