On September 8, Travel Agent's Susan J. Young called Cruise West's offices and also e-mailed Dick West, the line's chairman, to ask questions about the Cruise West situation. All that was received was the press release sent more than a week ago.
But this week— on September 16— West sent this e-mail. While it doesn't say a lot, it does seems that perhaps the line still has hope of working out a restructuring solution.
First, West apologized for the delay in response. Here's what he said:
"So SORRY - as you can imagine a lot is going on and very difficult. Right now our focus is 100 percent on taking care of our guests. You can expect a press release early next week - meanwhile - don't believe everything you read!"
