Special Entertainment for Three-night Cruises – November 20th and December 7th

Two very unique 3-night sailings will kick off a slew of exclusive entertainment options that guests will continually experience throughout the season. On November 20, along with exciting fireworks displays, MSC Divina will have a variety of shows, including musical tribute group Abbacadabra, performing hits from the famed ‘70s pop group Abba and music from the film “Mamma Mia”. Popular Cuban singer Carlos Oliva with his band Los Sobrinos del Juez, will bring their Latin flare to MSC Divina with a rhythmic fusion of Cuban music, salsa, afro beats, samba, jazz and rock for all to enjoy. Another special celebratory sailing, announced for December 7, will also feature fireworks and a special performance by Abbacadabra.

“We are excited to present MSC Divina guests with several new, outstanding onboard experiences,” said Andre Schlemmer, MSC Divina’s new cruise director. “The ship will premiere several exciting musical productions, headline entertainers and comedians, new family programs and an outdoor cinema for first-run films, classes and special broadcast events.” 

 

New Performances

As part of its North American sailings, MSC Divina will be offering a changing roster of performances throughout the season.

Performers joining the line-up include Scott Record, singing comedy impressionist, and comedic magician Levent, known for his signature combination of comedy and sleight of hand. 

The Jazz Bar’s new Dueling Pianos will have a line-up of performers throughout the winter, including Van and Keith, Dueling Pianos Forte, whose unique style combines comedy and rock n’ roll, and Michael and Amy Pickering, who bring an eclectic mix of musical genres with humor. Also new on MSC Divina, the open pool deck will host the island sounds of the Calypso band, Trio Caribe.

Keeping to its Mediterranean heritage, MSC Divina will continue to showcase current guest favorites, including Traviata, a special presentation of Giuseppe Verdi’s celebrated opera; Sogno Italiano, a tribute to popular Italian music, as well as the high-energy, vibrantly choreographed performances of Starwalker, a tribute to the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson, and Billy Bones, inspired by the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

 

MSC Cinema Al Fresco

First-run films and special programming will be projected throughout the day and evening hours “al fresco” on the new large outdoor screen on the pool deck.  In addition to a variety of popular movies, exciting sporting events such as the NFL season football, including Playoffs and Super Bowl, NCAA Basketball, NBA Finals, MLB Playoffs and the World Cup will also be broadcast.

 

Enrichment and Activities 

Among the new guest enrichment programs added to the Caribbean sailings are expert-led stargazing and astronomy classes; wine tastings; mixology classes; culinary demo’s, Mediterranean jewelry making; daily dance instruction of popular ballroom techniques such as tango, cha-cha and meringue; Mediterranean cooking classes, and language lessons to teach guests key phrases in Italian.

Guests can also join the fun with MSC’s ongoing theme nights, such as Little Italy, Flower Glory Party, Carnival Nights, Hollywood Stars and Romance Nights.

In the Black & White lounge, passengers can show-off their unique talents with “MSC Factor,” MSC Cruises’ twist on the famed television talent competition.

In addition to four swimming pools and 12 whirlpool baths, active guests can enjoy basketball, volleyball, tennis, and soccer in the MSC Sports Arena, bowling, shuffle board, a jogging track, and the soon-to-debut Aqua Cycling at sea in the infinity pool.  The now, non-smoking casino features slots, blackjack, poker, and a brand new craps table. 

 

For the Family

MSC Divina provides guests – especially families – hi-tech fun on the high seas with two thrill-packed experiences: the ship’s 4D Theater featuring a 3D movie with sights, sounds and seat movement providing a truly exhilarating motion-ride experience, and the Formula 1 racecar simulator that tests riders’ skills on world famous race courses from Monte Carlo to Montreal.

MSC Cruises’ youngest guests will enjoy the newly launched series of Smurf-themed programs, available throughout the season. The Smurf mascot will host a number of novel family events, such as the Smurfs Family Disco, the Smurfs Live Talent Show, and Smurfs Master Chef - a special cooking demonstration held by the head pastry chef in which children learn how to make biscuits and cakes.

For teens, MSC Divina provides signature events and new activities such as the Teens White Party, a take on MSC Cruises’ beloved deck party, a prom, and a flash mob dance workshop.
