Holland America Line Unveils 2011, 2012 Grand Voyages

Shanghai MuseumReservations are open for Holland America Line's fall 2011 and early 2012 cruises of four itineraries on two of its ships across all seven continents. Guests may book the full cruise or in segments of 18- to 112-day voyages. Full-cruise passengers booking early can benefit from amenities including prepaid hotel service charges, shipboard credit, luggage delivery service and a complimentary shore excursion or event for select stateroom categories.

In the fall of 2011, ms Amsterdam will embark on the 70-day Grand Asia and Australia Voyage and the 112-day world cruise, Grand World Voyage. In January 2012, the ms Prinsendam will go on the 68-day Grand South America and Antarctica Voyage, before the 62-day Grand Mediterranean and Black Sea Voyage in March.

Cruise activities will include local cultural entertainment and guest headliners and lecturers. Dining will feature local ingredients and regional cuisine and wines. On-board service will include almost one crew member for every two guests.

Grand Asia & Australia Voyage

Departing September 26, from Seattle to Los Angeles, starting from $9,499, Amsterdam's 70-day voyage, will travel through Asia, western Australia and the South Pacific. Overnight trips include Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Kobe, Japan and then Singapore, Sydney and Perth.

Grand World Voyage

On its seventh circumnavigation, starting from $23,799, Amsterdam will its Grand World Voyage roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale. Embarking January 6, the 112-day trip will first amble through the Caribbean, before cruising South America, Cape Horn then the Chilean Fjords on the way down to Antarctica. Then, heading west, the ship will take in Tahiti, Australia, the Far East and the Indian Ocean, before making its way through the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean before turning to South Florida.

The trip will include overnight calls in Sydney's Great Barrier Reef, Hong Kong and Mumbai, India, Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Singapore and Athens. For the first time, Amsterdam will visit Mangalore in Southern India. Hundreds of shore excursions will be available, as well as overland tours and visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage

In 2012, the 68-day, from $14,399, itinerary goes roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale January 4. Returning to South America, Antarctica and the Amazon, Prinsendam will also traverse the Panama Canal and South America's Pacific coast before circumnavigating the continent.

Overnight calls will be made to Manaus, Brazil; Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Peru's Lima. During the day, travelers can enjoy the view as the ship passes the Romanche, Alemania, Francia and Italia glaciers in Chile.

Grand Mediterranean & Black Sea Voyage

Following its return to Fort Lauderdale, Pinsendam will head through the Mediterranean and Holy Lands on a 62-day journey, starting from $12,999. For the first time, Prinsendam will pull into Durres in Albania, Saint Raphael in France's Cote d'Azur and Castellon de la Plana in Spain's Costa del Azahar.

Overnight calls will include Seville, Ephesus and Istanbul in Turkey, Athens, Venice, Barcelona and Lisbon in Portugal. Guests can combine this cruise with the Grand South America and Antarctica Voyage for a 130-day cruise.
