Magellan Expands

Residential Cruise Line Ltd., the parent company of The Magellan—the world's largest private residential cruise ship—has announced 12 additional residences and a new amenity, a U.S. Open-style tennis court. Previously listed at 800 feet, 70,000 tons, the Magellan now is 860 feet and 72,000 tons. The new line-up of residences consist of four one-bedroom, 624 square feet condos with pricing starting at $156,250. Named The Madrid, the one-bedroom condos—though smaller in scale—are appointed with the same luxurious amenities found in larger units including plasma screen TVs, custom wood cabinetry and gourmet-quality appliances. In addition to The Madrid, eight additional two-bedroom residences—The Barcelona—have been added for homebuyer selection. The Barcelona pricing begins at $200,000. The ship's amenities include a world-class aqua spa, an observatory, a green house and a 450-seat live, satellite broadcast theater, plus the new tennis court. Private residences on The Magellan range in price from $1.875 million to $8 million for penthouses and from $156,250 for fractional ownership condos.
