MSC Reveals Details of MSC World America, Opens Bookings

MSC Cruises has revealed details of its newest ship MSC World America. The LNG-powered ship will be the second in the line’s World Class when it launches in April 2025. The ship will offer sustainable cruising with new, immersive experiences that are now open for reservations.

MSC World America will sail from MSC Cruises’ new terminal at PortMiami, which is set to be the largest cruise terminal in North America once completed. The ship will sail seven-night Caribbean itineraries during its inaugural season. All sailings will include visits to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the line’s private destination in the Bahamas. The ship will sail two itineraries:

  • Eastern Caribbean: Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the Bahamas
  • Western Caribbean: Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the Bahamas

One of the new experiences onboard MSC World America will be The Harbor—a new outdoor destination on deck 20. With all the components of the perfect family experience at sea in one convenient location, The Harbor combines a water park, interactive water features and new thrills. Besides adventures such as the intricate High Trail course and zip line, sensory play areas for little ones, and the Harbor Lighthouse playground, The Harbor will also house food trucks.

  • Six specialty restaurants, including two new concepts besides Butcher’s Cut steakhouse, Kaito Sushi and Teppanyaki, and Hola! Tacos and Cantina
  • Four main restaurants serving globally inspired cuisine and American favorites
  • Two buffets offering ample choices for casual dining
  • Luna Park Pizza & Burger, a complimentary casual fast-food spot located next to Luna Park in the World Galleria
  • The new Sports Bar, where guests can grab a beverage and watch the game on one of the many screens while enjoying popular bar food. Games such as darts and foosball will also be available
  • The new comedy club, a first for MSC Cruises
  • The Gin Project will serve craft gins; Elixir will feature an outdoor terrace for guests to enjoy cocktails; and Masters of the Sea, the line’s British pub will brew signature beers onboard

  • Jean-Phillipe Chocolate Shop and Café serves custom chocolates, coffee and other treats

As the third LNG-powered ship in the line’s fleet and first based in the U.S., MSC World America will be a key step towards the line’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The ship will also feature a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system that reduces NOx emissions by 90 percent when LNG is not available and the ship must run on marine gas oil. The new ship will also feature an advanced wastewater treatment system and an underwater radiated noise management system with hull and engine room designs that minimizes acoustic sound impact, reducing potential effects on marine life.
