Sales Open for New LNG-Powered Carnival Jubilee

Carnival Cruise Line has opened sales for 2023 and 2024 voyages operated by the new Carnival Jubilee, which will sail from Galveston, TX. Powered by LNG (liquid natural gas), this new Excel-class ship—the third in that new class and a sister to Mardi Gras—will offer a roller coaster, specialty dining and new entertainment options.

The ship’s first available bookings coincide with "National Plan for Vacation Day," a day encouraging consumers to plan their time off from work.

Carnival Jubilee will offer seven-day western Caribbean itineraries from its Galveston homeport, starting November 18, 2023. Voyages will feature calls at Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico, as well as Mahogany Bay (Isla Roatan), Honduras.

Third LNG-Powered Ship

"National Plan for Vacation Day" was "the perfect time" to open Carnival Jubilee for sale, according to Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. Before settling into its new home, Carnival Jubilee will depart on October 30, 2023 from London (Southampton, U.K.) on an 18-day transatlantic voyage. The ship will call at Vigo, Spain; Las Palmas and Tenerife in the Canary Islands; Funchal in Portugal and Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos, before arriving in Texas.

Carnival Jubilee's LNG-powered sister, Mardi Gras, has been sailing from Port Canaveral, FL, since mid-2021. A second sister, Carnival Celebration will begin sailing from its PortMiami homeport later this year. All three vessels run on a liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology platform. Parent company Carnival Corporation pioneered the introduction of LNG fuel in the passenger cruise sector as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction.

Guests will find that Carnival Jubilee will offer many of the same popular features from the sister ships such as the BOLT roller coaster, expanded dining options, more than 20 different stateroom categories and multiple levels of spacious suites. In addition, the ship will offer a three-deck atrium on the starboard side of the ship that overlooks the ocean and converts to an entertainment venue at night. As with the sister ships, the new vessel will have six fun-filled zones—two that offer new concepts that Carnival will reveal at a later date.

As a contemporary segment brand, Carnival Cruise Line has a fleet of 24 ships, sails from 14 U.S. homeports and employs more than 40,000 people representing 120 nationalities.
