St. Barts, Caribbean, courtesy of TiarescottNorwegian Cruise Line has named Pierce Caine from Glendora, CA, as the winner of its Epic Moments YouTube video contest. Caine's video, “Our NCL Epic Vacation," received more than 2,500 views and 340 “likes” on YouTube to win a seven-day Caribbean sailing for two in a balcony stateroom.

Featured on the line's website,, Caine's video takes viewers on a detailed pre- and post-cruise journey as he experiences Norwegian Epic’s dining venues, entertainment, nightlife, activities and ports of call. Begun in October 2010, the contest received more than 70 video submissions from recent guests on the line’s newest vessel. Participants submited uploading their cruise vacation videos to YouTube as a video response to the contest overview video by Julie Valeriote, the ship’s entertainment director.

After a semi-finalist was chosen every two weeks for nine weeks, 10 semi-finalists were featured on Norwegian's website and YouTube channel in mid-February for the public to vote for their favorite “Epic Moment” in March. Following Caine, who promoted his video on the cruise line's Facebook channel, www.ncl.facebook, the nine semi-finalists received a dinner for two in a specialty restaurant of their choice or a pampering spa treatment on their next Norwegian cruise vacation.
