Pearl Seas Cruises to Build Two Luxury Cruise Ships

Pearl Seas Cruises announced Tuesday that it signed contracts with Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax, Nova Scotia to build two new luxury passenger ships. Pearl Seas Cruises is an offshore affiliate of American Cruise Lines, Inc., which has the newest fleet of cruise ships in the world. These new ships will carry 165 and 210 passengers. The first ship is scheduled to begin cruise service in July 2008 and the second in June 2009. The first ship will begin with international cruises in the Canadian maritime provinces, Newfoundland and New England, followed later in the year with itineraries in the Caribbean.
