Pirates Suspected of Attacking MSC Melody Apprehended


The Associated Press reports that the Seychelles Coast Guard has arrested nine pirates who allegedly attempted to hijack MSC Cruises' MSC Melody over the weekend. The Coast Guard responded to the Melody's distress call Saturday by sending a small plane that photographed and tracked the pirates' skiff before a Spanish navy ship apprehended the suspects Sunday.

The MSC Melody was targeted despite recent efforts to change its route between South Africa and Italy.
