Royal Caribbean’s Wonder Of The Seas Arrives In Europe

Royal Caribbean International’s Wonder of the Seas has arrived in Barcelona, Spain. The fifth in the cruise line’s Oasis class of ships will depart on a series of seven-night cruises from Barcelona and Rome beginning May 8. The ship will offer summer adventures in the Mediterranean, calling at Florence, Naples and Capri, Italy; Provence, France; and Malaga, Spain.

Wonder of the Seas has eight neighborhoods, including the Suite Neighborhood. It is the new, eighth neighborhood onboard and offers a private Suite Sun Deck with a plunge pool and bar; Coastal Kitchen restaurant; and the Suite Lounge, with the Ultimate Family Suite that can accommodate a family of 10. Facilities include an in-suite slide, a cinema and karaoke area, among others.

The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar will offer Southern staples and new twists on classics for brunch and dinner. At night, guests can enjoy live country music, a collection of whiskeys and Southern cocktails.

Wonder Playscape is an underwater-themed play area complete with slides, climbing walls, puzzles and an interactive touchscreen mural. Returning favorites onboard include the FlowRider surf simulator; The Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea; the 10-story-high zip line; Adventure Ocean, the area dedicated to kids, besides Social100 and The Patio for teens; neighborhoods including Central Park, which has over 20,000 plants, and the Boardwalk, which offers family-friendly activities at the Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.

Additionally, guests can enjoy new shows including “inTENse,” featuring the first all-female cast of aerialists, high divers, slackliners and more in the AquaTheater; and “The Effectors II: Crash ‘n’ Burn”.

Wonder’s western Mediterranean sailings will continue through October, rounding out a summer adventure in Europe with eight ships, including Odyssey of the Seas – also marking its inaugural season in Europe. In November, Wonder will return to the U.S. to sail from its new year-round home in Port Canaveral, Florida, to explore the Caribbean and the Bahamas, including the line’s private island destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
