Scenic Launches 2024 European River Cruise Brochure

Scenic has unveiled its full 2024 Europe River Cruising brochure, including new river cruise collections, Danube sailings, two Scenic Enrich experiences, and over 50 new Scenic Freechoice excursions, giving guests an even deeper cultural immersion along Europe’s historic waterways.

The recently launched 2024 brochure release introduces Scenic’s new River Cruise Collections, making it even easier for guests to select their European river cruise, based on their personal preferences. These new collections include:

  • Epicurean Delights: Guests are immersed in local cuisine with cooking classes, meeting local farmers and tasting their produce, and sampling wine from award-winning vineyards.
  • Nature’s Wonders: Itineraries that take in European gardens, sweeping valleys and gorges, and mysterious castle surroundings.
  • Seasonal Delights: Moments at unique seasonal events, from the Christmas markets to the tulips that take over the Netherlands in spring.

Leading the way are two new itineraries:

A 10-day "Danube in Depth" digs deep into the cultures, history and local flavors of the historic cities and towns on the Budapest to Nuremburg (and reverse) route including cooking classes in Bratislava, active hikes, and plenty of time for independent exploration while making use of Scenic’s Tailormade River Guide app. The eight-day "Iconic Danube" (also available with a three-night Prague extension), is ideal for those who wish to explore the highlights of four countries during the European spring with four exclusive departures in April 2024.

Two new Scenic Enrich experiences, designed to offer a truly immersive and exclusive experience inaccessible to ordinary travelers, have also been added to the 2024 lineup. An exclusive Gala Evening at La Redoute, allows guests to step into total luxury at La Redoute on Scenic’s "Jewels of Europe" River cruise.

Scenic guests on the "Windmills, Tulips & Belgian Delights" itinerary will take in a private after-hours show at the Fabrique de Lumieres in Amsterdam, a former coal-fired gasworks that has been transformed into a digital art installation. This immersive art center will display an exclusive showcase for guests.

More than 50 new Freechoice experiences are now available with Scenic’s 2024 river cruises program, where guests can choose destinations and activities that suit their interests. Examples include a guided and interactive tour following in the footsteps of famed and fierce Viking, Rollo, who became the first ruler of Normandy, on the eight-day "Highlights of Normandy & the Seine." Guests learn the history direct from ‘Rollo himself’ and chart the routes of the Vikings that shaped Normandy on this excursion. Exclusive to the 16-day "Danube Delta Discovery" itinerary, guests can visit the Sisi Museum in Vienna. One of Vienna’s most popular experiences, the Sisi museum collection has over 300 artifacts. Guests can now enjoy a round of golf at some of Porto’s best golf courses, known the world over for their iconic settings, on the 11-day "Unforgettable Douro" sailing.

For guests looking to go to France in 2024, it is even more important to book early as it promises to be a busy year due to the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the 2024 Paris Olympics. The "Highlights of Normandy & the Seine" allows guests to learn the history and importance of the D-Day landings in Normandy while enjoying the countryside along the Seine River. And Scenic offers two-and three-night Paris extensions to allow for more time in the "City of Light."

Scenic offers 10 different city stays and extensions, available to augment nearly every itinerary. The five-day Ljubljana & Zagreb extends several itineraries including the 14-day "Jewels of Europe" and takes in the natural beauty of Slovenia and Croatia, combined with history, cobblestone streets and glacial lakes. Three nights in either Lisbon or Madrid allow for exploration of the culture and styles of two capital cities before or after sailing on the Douro. And extending an 11-day "Black Sea Explorer" cruise adds six days in Transylvania and a visit to the former summer residence of the Romanian family Bran Castle, home of the legend Count Dracula.

For travelers looking to spend even more time exploring Europe, Scenic has "Ultimate River Cruise Combinations," combining some of its most popular itineraries to create the ultimate vacation experience. The 23-day "North Sea to Black Sea" is a full sweep of European history, taking in the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers as they wind through eight countries. Or, mix it up a bit with the 21-day "Gems of the Seine & Unforgettable Douro," sailing two rivers with very different sceneries—the cathedrals, architectural wonders and the history or the D-Day landings in Normandy as compared to the vibrant city of Portugal’s Porto. A total of six offerings run from 21 to 23 days.

Good to know: The fares listed are inclusive of "2-for-1" fare savings and are reflected as a per-person rate in a double-occupancy cabin. Scenic is also offering free Premium Economy or free Economy airfare (or an air credit of up to $2,000 per couple) when full payment is made 10 months prior to departure or for bookings made within the 10 months, within 30 days of booking or 90 days prior to departure — whichever is soonest.
